If you are having difficulty getting connected to your Internet service call porchlight.ca at 1-866-PORCHLIGHT (1-866-767-2454) and ask for Tech Support.
One of our tech support assistants will provide you with the network status, and work with you to correct your connection.
In the meantime, here are some simple steps that you can take if you are unable to connect to the Internet:
- Restart your computer.
Often a computer reboot can clear connection problems. Use the standard shutdown procedures for your system, and turn the power off. Then start up your computer and try connecting again.
- Check your username and password.
Make sure your username and password are entered properly. Remember your username is the first part of your email address. For example, if your email address is firstname.lastname@example.org then your username is janesmith. Remember also usernames and passwords are case sensitive. Many password errors are caused by having the Caps Lock on when typing it in.
